It all started with the humble house.
Many professionals in this field started off as the 'green' intern at an Architectural firm who got sent out in the cold with a clipboard and pencil to take measurements of a house being renovated. Myself included. I can tell you right now that I do not recommend having the intern do the measurements. Or the Architect for that matter. But we all have to start somewhere.

Which makes residential surveying classic for us. It's one of the most common types of work that require an 'As-Built', but is sometimes overlooked by other as-built companies. Not us! The humble abode is another great subject for measured drawings, and the result is often a drawing you'd like to frame and hang on a wall. The bigger, the older, the better.
And today we're surveying ARI's first Residential project. This house was fairly small, but it's a great place to start. A 'starter home', if you will.
